In mid-October 2025, Kulautuva Basic School proudly welcomed students and teachers from Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, and Lithuania for the 4th Erasmus+ CREATE mobility meeting, titled “A Hero’s Journey Across Europe – From Narrative to Reality.”
The event brought together young people from across Europe to celebrate creativity, friendship, and cultural exchange through storytelling, art, and shared experiences.
Everyone arrived on Sunday, when the guests were warmly greeted by their Lithuanian hosts and brought to their homes. The project officially started on Monday with a welcoming ceremony, where Lithuanian students showcased their talents through music and traditional dances. After the ceremony, each country performed its own short act based on the storybook “A Hero’s Journey Across Europe – From Narrative to Reality.” It was really fun to watch how each group stayed in character and brought their version of the story to life. Later, Lithuanian students gave a tour of the school and the town of Kulautuva, sharing stories about its most beautiful and well-known places.
The second day began with two creative activities — one group worked on art projects, while the other filmed and answered interesting questions like “What color would Erasmus be?” Afterward, we all went to Kaunas, where a guide told us fascinating stories about the city’s history and landmarks. The day ended with a party, full of laughter, dancing, and new friendships.
The third day started very early because we were heading to Palanga and Klaipėda. We visited a rehabilitation centerand the Sea Museum, where we saw marine animals and learned many new things. After lots of walking and exploring, we went out to eat and even celebrated a Czech student’s birthday together! It was such a fun and memorable day — probably the most interesting one yet.
The next day, we travelled to Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. We explored the city, listened to stories told by Lithuanian students, and visited famous landmarks. It was a long but wonderful day, and we returned home late, tired but happy. Everyone went to sleep early, knowing that the next day would be our last.
On the final day, we watched the short film created by Lithuanian students and then visited Raudondvaris Manor to see how noble families lived centuries ago. Later, we went to Kaunas, where we had some free time to enjoy coffee, shop, and spend time with our new friends. In the evening, it was time for the farewell party, where we danced, sang, and celebrated one last time together.
The week ended with tears, hugs, and promises to stay in touch. Saying goodbye was really hard, but as we reminded each other — you shouldn’t be sad that it’s over; you should be happy that it happened and that we got to experience it together.
