I think the one week in Spain was one of the best experiences of my life. Thanks to this Erasmus project, we could visit different parts of Spain and not only the parts we usually see on social media. Every day was different and full of new experiences.
I’m thankful for my host family. They were so kind and looked after me as if I were their own child. Every morning I had delicious orange juice. When I tried it for the first time, I immediately knew I wouldn’t want to drink anything else.
MONDAY:
We had the opening ceremony at school in Algemesí and after that we toured the school. The funniest part was a workshop about human towers called Muixerangues. We finished the day with a walk around the town.
TUESDAY:
We went on a trip to Cullera where we visited a castle and a museum. I really liked the beach because of the clean sea water and the sand full of seashells. We also tried the typical meal, paella. In the evening every country showed the dance they had prepared and we finished the day with pizza.
WEDNESDAY:
We spent this day in Valencia, mainly in the historical part of the city. Even though I don’t like history very much, the buildings there really impressed me.
THURSDAY:
This day we visited Valencia for the second time, but it was different from Wednesday. We had the opportunity to see what the “modern” Valencia looks like. It was the best part of my stay there. The place that has a special spot in my heart is the Opera House. (And of course I really enjoyed the free shopping time 😊)
FRIDAY:
On this day we had presentations and a farewell ceremony. The best part was planting a tree as a memory of the project. In the evening there was a carnival party with costumes connected to films or TV series. It was a lot of fun and a very creative idea!
SATURDAY:
Saturday was unfortunately the last day here in Algemesí. Nobody wanted to go back home. Also the hosting families were sad and almost everyone cried due to the leaving. But I think I´ll stay in contact with the family that hosted me and I hope everybody will .
Alghthough it was just a few days the stay here in Spain was an amazing experience for me. I really enjoyed discovering new places. The atmosphere, spain tradicions and local food made a big impression on me. So even though the week went by very quickly, I made great memories and new friendships. I´m really grateful for this opportunity and I will never forget it.
