The students of the “Hám János” Roman-Catholic Theological High School visited the Czech Republic between March 31 and April 5 as part of the Erasmus+ program, for the second international meeting of the Create – for a Healthy World project. The first such meeting took place in Satu Mare in the fall of 2024.

The international gathering offered students from Romania, Slovakia, Lithuania, Spain, and Italy a variety of interesting activities and visits. Upon arrival, the welcoming host families greeted the students with excitement.

Eight students from Hám János High School had the opportunity to enjoy unforgettable moments in the Czech Republic. The theme of the meeting was sustainability and organic products. The host school provided a diverse program, with activities held in various locations such as ecological centers and farms, aiming to raise awareness among students about the importance of environmental conservation through sustainable methods and organic products.

The students learned about alternative methods of electricity production during their visit to the Veronica Ecological Center in Hostětín. They also discovered the traditional methods of growing, drying, and combining aromatic herbs to create natural products at the Nejlepší Organic Farm in the Vlachovice region.

While visiting a wooden barrel factory in Vlachovice, they observed the traditional barrel-making process in one of only four such factories in the Czech Republic. They also tasted organic dairy products during a visit to a local sheep farm.

Not least, the students had the chance to create their own animated sequences by designing 2D and 3D characters at the animation studio in Zlín—one of the oldest of its kind in Europe, established in 1930.

The purpose of the mobility, in addition to promoting eco-friendly businesses and products, was to teach students how to develop a business plan for launching a company based on sustainability and organic production.

The mobility will be followed by an international photo exhibition, organized simultaneously in the six partner countries, to promote local producers. The exhibition organized by Hám János High School will be held at the Satu Mare County Museum at the beginning of May and also during the school’s Open Days, from May 15 to 16.

Also in May, the third mobility of the project will take place. Slovakia will host the meeting and be the setting for more surprise activities for the students.
