Day 3
On this day we were driven on an excursion to the Ecopark of Sosna, in a village of Družstevná pri Hornáde, not far from Košice. This Ecopark, or Ecocentre is located on a rather smaller area, but with a great value.
Around the Ecocenter there is a natural garden where crops, fruits, herbs and flowers are grown without any chemicals. We have learned that a natural garden has many benefits and functions. It is an aid in the environmental education of pupils, motivates people to a healthy lifestyle and crop cultivation, and also has a therapeutic function.
The whole area has awakened peace and quiet in us, which we need so much these days.
After this excursion, the pupils created posters on the topic of environmental protection and wrote letters on the same topic at the workshops at the school. The pupils cooperated in these activities and the result is valuable posters that have found a place on display at school and letters that we will store in a time capsule and bury in the ground, for future generations.
