From Recyclables to Heartwarming Gifts
As part of the Erasmus project, the students of Hám János Roman Catholic High School were once again able to participate in activities that simultaneously developed their creativity, strengthened their sense of community, and raised their awareness of social responsibility.
Within the program, the students created various gifts from recyclable materials, which not only reflected their environmentally conscious thinking but also showcased the joy of working together.
During the workshops, the students experienced firsthand how everyday materials—often destined for disposal—can be transformed into valuable and aesthetically pleasing items.
As the Christmas season approached, the completed gifts were donated to the children’s home run by the Piarist Sisters in Carei. During the visit, the students were able to personally present their creations, creating intimate and heartwarming moments for everyone involved.
The project is an excellent example of how environmental education, creative work, and charity can come together. It provided a lasting experience for the participants while helping them grow into more empathetic and responsible adults. Initiatives like this clearly demonstrate the important role that community collaboration and volunteerism play in shaping our values.
