On Sunday, after warmly handing our students over to their Spanish host families, we felt both excited and curious about everything the week in Spain would bring. From the very first moments, we experienced an atmosphere of openness and kindness that accompanied us throughout the entire stay.

Our first day was devoted to getting to know our partner school in Algemesí and taking part in the opening ceremony, where we were officially welcomed by the headmaster and a representative of the town. In the school courtyard, we admired the traditional human towers, an impressive symbol of the region’s cultural heritage. While our students participated in creative workshops, we, as teachers, met with our colleagues to discuss and evaluate the progress of the project.

The following day, we travelled to Cullera. Together, we explored the local castle, walked through the historic centre, visited a museum dedicated to the tradition of Fallas, and enjoyed the beautiful sandy beach. In the afternoon, we tasted traditional Spanish paella and took a boat trip in the Albufera Natural Park, where we could fully appreciate the unique character of this remarkable landscape.

One of the highlights of our mobility was the visit to Valencia. With the guidance of an excellent guide, we discovered the historic city centre and learned more about its rich past. Our students also enthusiastically took part in a scavenger hunt, which allowed them to explore the city in an engaging way. At the City of Arts and Sciences, we admired the Opera House and the impressive futuristic architecture. The dinosaur exhibition offered us a fascinating journey millions of years back into the history of our planet.

Later in the week, we explored Algemesí and visited local eco-shops offering homemade products. We also toured the local museum and deepened our understanding of Spanish traditions and customs. A significant moment came at the end of the week, when the students presented their business plans, which they had previously consulted with experts. We were extremely proud that one of the Czech teams won first place with their eco-business idea, as selected by the expert jury.

As is tradition in every mobility, a tree was symbolically planted in the school courtyard, with the participation of both visiting and host students and teachers — a lasting symbol of our shared experience and friendship.

The week concluded with a traditional costume carnival themed around films and TV series. Our Czech team chose costumes inspired by Men in Black, adding a touch of style and humour to the celebration. We said our goodbyes through dance and signed each other’s canvas bags so that we could take a small piece of Spain home with us.

We are deeply grateful for the warm welcome and the exceptional care that was given to our students throughout the entire week. Thank you for an unforgettable experience filled with inspiration, friendship, and wonderful memories.
