Between October 13–17, 2025, Kulautuva Basic School proudly hosted the 4th Erasmus+ CREATE project mobility meeting, titled “A Hero’s Journey Across Europe – From Narrative to Reality” (Project No. 2024-1-RO01-KA220-SCH-000243938). The event brought together enthusiastic students and teachers from Romania, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, and Lithuania, united by a shared goal to foster creativity, environmental awareness, and intercultural understanding through art, storytelling, and collaboration.
The week began with great excitement, laughter, and the joy of new friendships. Lithuanian students opened the meeting with traditional and modern songs, lively folk dances, and a captivating theatre play based on the international storybook ‘A Hero’s Journey Across Europe’. The main character, Felix, symbolically travelled through various European countries, discovering their geography, culture, language, and nature. Each partner school had created its own part of the story, turning the performance into a vibrant and emotional European mosaic. The day continued with a student-led school tour, followed by an amazing walk around Kulautuva, visiting its most beautiful spots – the Mineral Spring Pavilion, Valley of Goddesses and Gods, Cloud/Telephone Sculpture, Kulautuva Church, and the Moon Park.
The second day focused on creativity, communication, and digital expression. Students conducted interviews about Erasmus+ symbols, values, friendship, and personal impressions, which later inspired Lithuanian participants to create a video cartoon celebrating International Erasmus Days (October 13–18). At the same time, another group took part in an art workshop, expressing imagination, fantasy, and cultural identity through painting and design. In the afternoon, participants explored Kaunas Old Town, admired its architectural beauty, and tasted traditional Lithuanian dishes, discovering the flavours and stories behind them.
The third day was full of adventure. Participants visited the Baltic coast, exploring Klaipėda. They toured the Sea Museum, enjoyed a sea lion show, and ended the day in Palanga, admiring the sea breeze and stunning views from the Palanga bridge.
On the fourth day, project participants visited Trakai and Vilnius, exploring Lithuania’s rich historical and cultural heritage. Highlights included Trakai Castle, Vilnius Old Town, and Gediminas Hill. The day was a perfect blend of learning and friendship, strengthening ties among schools and fostering respect for Europe’s shared history and traditions.
The final day was devoted to reflection, sharing experiences, and showcased creative works from the art workshops, and planted a Project Tree as a symbol of growth, unity, and sustainability. The final visit to Raudondvaris manor with its elegant ballrooms provided a graceful ending to an inspiring week. The farewell partywas filled with warmth, music, laughter, and emotional goodbyes — a true celebration of Erasmus+ friendship.
Throughout the week, students and teachers enhanced their creativity, communication, and intercultural understanding, improving English skills and strengthening European values. The mobility in Kulautuva became more than a meeting — it was a shared journey of learning, friendship, and growth, proving that happiness and knowledge flourish when hearts and minds are open to the world.
