The students from all partner countries participated in environmental volunteering activities that promoted sustainability, civic responsibility, and green competences. Through tree planting, clean-up campaigns, and environmental awareness initiatives, they demonstrated that protecting nature begins with individual action.

In Romania, students from Hám János Roman Catholic Theological High School planted fruit trees in the courtyards of the Holy Spirit and Saint Anthony Catholic Parishes in Satu Mare and documented the project in a short documentary encouraging young people to develop green competences.

In Spain, students from IES Bernat Guinovart visited La Xopera, where members of the Xúquer Viu association explained the importance of riverside woodlands for biodiversity and flood prevention. Students then participated in a clean-up campaign, collecting approximately 70 kg of plastic waste, gaining first-hand experience of recycling, waste management, and environmental protection.

In Italy, students took part in a Plastic Free environmental awareness campaign held on 23 March 2026 at the Istituto Tecnico Economico e Tecnologico Lenoci-Euclide in Bari. The event focused on preventing future environmental disasters by raising awareness about plastic pollution and encouraging more sustainable lifestyles.

In Slovakia, students actively contributed to their communities through environmental volunteering. Fifty-six students from the Gymnasium in Slavičín participated in the “Let’s Clean Up Slavičín” campaign, cleaning public spaces and green areas across the town. Students from the Ján Bocatius Secondary Vocational School of Trade and Services in Košice also organised clean-up activities around their school and neighbourhood, reinforcing the importance of community responsibility.

In Lithuania, students from Kulautuva Basic School volunteered to clean and prepare the local churchyard for the Easter celebrations, while in Czechia, students participated in environmental volunteering activities aimed at improving and maintaining their school surroundings.

These initiatives demonstrate that environmental education is most effective when combined with practical action. By working together across Europe, CREATE students are developing the knowledge, skills, and commitment needed to build a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future.
