Boxes of Joy for Children: A Charitable Action as Part of the Erasmus+ CREATE Project at “Hám János” Roman Catholic Theological High School

From December 9th to 12th, “Hám János” Roman Catholic Theological High School organized a large-scale “Shoebox” charity event as part of the Erasmus+ CREATE project. The event showcased exemplary involvement from parents, students, and teachers, who came together to bring the Christmas spirit into the hearts of less privileged children.

The parents of the students at our school responded generously to the organizers’ call by donating clothes, toys, sweets, personal hygiene items, and school supplies. Thanks to this outpouring of support, 40 beautifully wrapped boxes were prepared, along with numerous additional donations, which were delivered to children under the care of the Piarist Sisters in Carei and the students of Nisipeni Secondary School.

Of the donated packages, 23 personalized boxes were gifted to children cared for by the Piarist Sisters in Carei. This occasion was marked by a short artistic program performed by the high school students, who presented a Christmas-themed play that brought emotion and warmth to the hearts of those at the orphanage.

At Nisipeni Secondary School, the joy of the holidays was shared with the school’s 93 students, who received surprise boxes, sweets, and dozens of additional gifts. The festive atmosphere was enhanced by Christmas carols sung by the secondary school students, who welcomed us with open arms and enjoyed our presence.

The teaching staff of “Hám János” Roman Catholic Theological High School extends heartfelt thanks to the parents for their outstanding involvement and generosity, as well as to the students who dedicated themselves to preparing the packages. Through this initiative, the school succeeded in bringing joy and smiles to the faces of children dreaming of a brighter Christmas.

This charitable action not only demonstrated the power of solidarity and generosity but also strengthened the bond between the community, students, and teachers, highlighting the Christian values at the core of our school’s education. Thus, Christmas 2024 will remain an unforgettable memory for all those involved.
