A Cooking Workshop

Another interesting local activity has been completed.

Our Slovak Create students have prepared their contribution to a cookery book, which will be composed from recipes from 6 partner countries of the project.

The cookery book will be comprised of one main course and one dessert from each country. The dishes should be traditional, somehow connected to the history of each country.
The ingredients necessary for the meals were bought from local producers around.

The main course is cooked from two main ingredients – potatoes and cabbage – the historically most common ingredients, which people have been able to grow at home for centuries. They are cheap, so they have always been available to all people, both in villages and towns, even if they did have problems to make ends meet.

The dessert is prepared from potatoes again, flour, eggs and poppy seeds. Poppy seeds, though forbidden to be used for eating and cooking in some countries, are very popular in Slovakia, very much liked and very healthy, as they are rich in calcium.
